Review: This quick little game provides a fun memory test using numbers. The screen will momentarily flash a few numbers (1-9) inside blue squares on the screen. After a couple seconds, the numbers will disappear, but the squares will remain. Your job is to click on the squares in order from the lowest number to the highest number.

This task is really easy the first few rounds, but each time you play another number is added to the mix. Eventually you will have 9 digits and then the game will continue with the same digits in random placement.

This game won’t win any awards for design or concept, but it is a very entertaining test and it only takes a moment to grasp the concept. Enjoyable to come back and try every now and then.

Five Errors - Game Review

Object: Find five differences between two similar images.
Review: The concept for this game isn’t exactly new. You can find similar games all over, inluding children’s magazines like Highlights. But, never-the-less, this game still provides a lot of entertainment.

You are given two almost identical images and asked to spot the five details that are different in each picture. These differences can range from, missing or added objects; subtle changes in color or texture; or objects which have been moved slightly. Some of the differences are quite difficult to spot, particularly in the images with simple subject matter and clean backgrounds. As you discover differences, just click on the spot in either picture and the game will circle it for you.

The author of this game Teppo Pihlajamäki seems to have a good sense of humor as well. One image had a woman raising her arm and he added armpit hair to her underarm. Additionally, the timer you have to run against in this game is a fish in a fish tank. The water slowly lowers and you can only refill it a bit each time you get all five errors in an image correctly. Images keep coming at you until the tank runs out.

The game is fun and you can replay it several times. However after about 5 times of playing you start getting the same images again. I hope the designer continues to add new images into the mix.

Impossible Quiz 2 - Game Review

  • Type: Quiz (on Crack)
  • Play: Tricky
  • Replay: Great until you finish it
  • Controls: Mouse & Keys
Object: Try to answer all the questions correctly with only 5 wrong answers.
Review: The folks at Splapp-me-do and Deviant Art have done it again! Here’s their whacked out sequel to their hugely popular Impossible Quiz. This one has at least 114 questions (I haven’t made it to the end yet).

If you haven’t played the original, I highly recommend it. But you can do either quiz first with no problem. Quiz #2 is packed with tricky questions, that will test your wits, speed, and skill. The majority of the questions are multiple choice. However, the answers given aren’t always what you are looking for. Most of the questions require you to think outside the box a little or at least to have a corny sense of humor and a little pop-culture knowledge. Some questions require you to think fast in order to answer before a bomb explodes and ruins your game.

This version has a few improvements over the first quiz. The graphics seem a little more slick (even though they still have that sloppy hand-drawn look). You are given 3 skip passes throughout the game and unlike the first version, you can actually use them on any question. In addition you also may see 3 different bomb-defusers which open their eyes when a bomb appears on screen allowing you to kill the countdown and think a little.

In addition, I’ve noticed that several of the questions have multiple version, which means each time you take the quiz, you might get a different question than you were expecting. This keeps gamers on their toes, you can’t just learn a sequence of answers and repeat them like you could in the first quiz. And let me tell you, this one is tough. You will most likely die several hundred deaths on your way to glory. But it’s a heck of a lot of fun trying.
