Game of the Day

Jelly Blocks - Get your Jelly in One Glob

Jelly BlocksIn this fun puzzler, you have some jelly blocks of a certain color spread across the play field. When you press a direction, all the blocks on the screen will slide one step in that direction. You use the permanent obstacles and walls to maneuver the jelly blocks so that they touch each other, thereby creating a large cluster of the same color. At first you start with just a few blocks of one color, but as the levels progress, you will have to deal with more than one color and several obstructions which can help or hinder your progress.

At first I felt the game would be too difficult. It takes a few moments of playing to get a feel for the way the pieces move and interact with each other, but once you have to concept down you should have no trouble getting through the first 20 levels or so. Then things get a little harder as your pathways get more obstructed and pieces start combining before you want them to forcing you to have to restart the level.

Luckily, the game saves your progress automatically and also allows you to go back and replay any level you have previously completed. I highly recommend this unique game for people who like progressive puzzlers.

Fun Site of the Day

I-Face - Morph a Face

I-FaceThis nifty little web application features several faces of people. When you run your cursor over the various facial features, they change. Click on the features and more changes happen. Eyes wink, tongues stick out, noses twitch. It’s pretty fun and interesting to watch for a while, but the app doesn’t provide much practical application at this point in time. But the concept seems interesting. The original application seems to have a few glitches, especially using Firefox or older browsers. If you have any trouble, try this extra version by the same designer: Dominique’s Face, which seems to run a little better than the other faces.

Spin - Time Distortion

This award-winning video is really fun. It features a D.J. with a portable record scratching station, with which he can control time. He witnesses a man get hit by a car and decides to alter reality a little so the event doesn’t happen, but he ends up causing more trouble than he can handle.
